Livestock SittingPoultry, goats, sheep, horses & cattle in South Frontenac & Kingston

Most sitters in this area handle dogs and cats only. I look after the barn animals too: feeding and watering, stall and coop cleaning, pasture checks, health monitoring, egg collection, and predator awareness, backed by hands-on work as a farm technician and a farm animal research assistant.

Why farm sitting here

Farm experience, not just a dog walker on a farm

01

Worked on farms

Hands-on work as a farm technician across both agriculture and aquaculture, and as a farm animal research assistant, so barn chores and livestock routines are familiar ground.

02

Trained in animal health

A BSc in Bioveterinary Science and an Animal Welfare certificate, plus time as a veterinary assistant. Medication is given exactly as your vet prescribes; we do not diagnose or treat.

03

One call for the whole property

The house pets, the barn animals, and the pond or tank, covered together. Book them on the same visit and take $10 off, since it's one trip either way.

04

Police checked

Every new client starts with a free meet-and-greet at the property to go over your animals, routines, and any special care needs before the first booking.

Poultry, goats, horses & more

Feeding and watering, stall and coop cleaning, pasture checks, health monitoring, egg collection, and predator awareness, priced for the extra time farm care takes. Few sitters in this area cover livestock at all.

Base Rate

Farm visit (poultry, small livestock)$55 / day

Add-Ons

Additional large animal (horse, cattle)+$12 / animal / day
Overnight farm stay+$50 / day
Medication administration (as prescribed)+$20 / day

Custom quotes for larger operations or specialized needs. Medication administered exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian; we do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment.

How pricing works: the base visit covers your flock and small livestock (chickens, ducks, goats, sheep) at one flat daily rate, since a visit takes about the same time whether you have 6 hens or 10. Horses and cattle are charged per animal on top of that, because each one needs its own individual feeding, water check, and stall or pasture inspection.

+ Mileage $0.70/km beyond 20km of Perth Road Village · + $20/day statutory holidays · 5% off 3–6 consecutive days, 10% off 7+ days · $10 off when house pets or a pond are booked on the same visit.

How much does farm sitting cost?

A farm visit is $55 per day and covers your flock and small livestock (chickens, ducks, goats, sheep). Each horse or head of cattle is +$12 per animal per day. An overnight farm stay is +$50 per day, and medication administration as prescribed is +$20 per day. Statutory holidays are +$20 per day, and mileage is $0.70/km beyond 20km of Perth Road Village.

Why is the base rate the same for 6 hens or 10?

A visit to the flock and small livestock takes about the same time whether you have 6 hens or 10, so it is one flat daily rate. Horses and cattle are charged per animal because each one needs its own individual feeding, water check, and stall or pasture inspection.

Can you stay overnight on the farm?

Yes. An overnight farm stay is available as a +$50 per day add-on to the farm visit rate.

Can you give my livestock their medication?

Yes, for +$20 per day. Medication is administered exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment.

I have house pets as well as farm animals. Do I book separately?

No, book them together. Combine the relevant rates for each category (Pet Sitting for the dog and cat, Farm & Livestock for the goats) and take $10 off the combined visit, since it's one trip either way.

Do you require a deposit for farm sitting?

Yes. Farm bookings need a 30% deposit at booking to confirm, with the balance due on the day of service. Holiday bookings require a 50% deposit. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the start of service; cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the deposit.

Are there discounts for longer farm bookings?

Yes. Bookings of 3-6 consecutive days get 5% off the total, and 7 or more consecutive days get 10% off.

What farm experience do you have?
