A rare thing in this area: one sitter qualified for the house pets, the barn animals, and the pond or tank. Four years of professional pet sitting, backed by real animal health education and hands-on farm experience, all in one call.
Feeding and watering, stall and coop cleaning, pasture checks, health monitoring, egg collection, and predator awareness, priced for the extra time farm care takes. Few sitters in this area cover livestock at all.
Base Rate
| Farm visit (poultry, small livestock) | $55 / day |
Add-Ons
| Additional large animal (horse, cattle) | +$12 / animal / day |
| Overnight farm stay | +$50 / day |
| Medication administration (as prescribed) | +$20 / day |
Custom quotes for larger operations or specialized needs. Medication administered exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian; we do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment.
How pricing works: the base visit covers your flock and small livestock (chickens, ducks, goats, sheep) at one flat daily rate, since a visit takes about the same time whether you have 6 hens or 10. Horses and cattle are charged per animal on top of that, because each one needs its own individual feeding, water check, and stall or pasture inspection.
Backed by hands-on aquaculture experience. Water testing, water changes, algae and gravel cleaning, filter maintenance, and fish and plant health checks. A service most local sitters simply don't offer.
Base Rate
| Small tank cleaning (up to 20 gal) | $60 |
| Medium tank cleaning (20–50 gal) | $95 |
| Large tank cleaning (50–100 gal) | $160 |
| Pond maintenance visit | $200 |
Add-Ons
| Additional tank or pond, same property | +$20 / visit |
| Fish feeding only, alongside another visit (no tank service) | +$5 / visit |
| Monthly maintenance plan | Quote |
How pricing works: tank cleaning is priced by size since larger tanks take longer to service and hold more water to test and change. A pond maintenance visit covers routine upkeep, testing, algae, and filter checks. If you're already booked for a dog or cat visit and just need the fish fed, no cleaning involved, that's the small add-on rate, not the full tank/pond service.
Feeding, walks, litter and cage cleaning, medication, and a daily photo update, whether it's a quick drop-in or an overnight stay.
Base Rate
| Quick Peek welfare check (10 min) | $15 |
| Drop-in visit (30 min) | $30 |
| Dog walk (30 min) | $25 |
| Dog walk (60 min) | $40 |
| Full day care (up to 6 hrs) | $50 |
| Overnight in-home | $60 / night |
Add-Ons
| Additional pet, same household | +$10 / day |
Quick Peek: a fast, affordable welfare check for a short errand or day trip, food/water topped off, a quick safety check, and a photo or text update. Priced to be accessible and to beat a standard 30-minute visit on cost. Not a substitute for a full visit on longer days. Ask about weekly packages for extended stays.
How pricing works: a drop-in visit is for feeding, water, litter/cage cleaning, and a general check, no walk included. A dog walk is exactly that, dedicated walking time, priced separately since it's a different service with different time and effort. Full day care and overnight stays bundle multiple check-ins or continuous supervision into one flat rate.
Two different specialties, one underlying reason we can offer both: exotic pets that most sitters won't handle, and medical care that most sitters aren't trained for. Backed by a bioveterinary science education, an Animal Welfare certificate, and hands-on farm and animal research experience. We administer medication exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian; we do not diagnose, prescribe, or perform medical procedures.
Exotic & Reptile Sitting · Priced Per Habitat
| Primary visit (exotic care is the reason for the trip), first habitat | $40 / visit |
Add-Ons
| Each additional separate habitat, same visit | +$20 / visit |
| Alongside another visit (already booked for a dog/cat), per habitat | $20 / visit |
Priced per habitat, not per animal, birds, reptiles, and small mammals all fall under the same rate. Multiple pets sharing one enclosure, like two parakeets in one cage, cost the same as one. Each separate enclosure, like a snake and a bearded dragon in their own tanks, is its own habitat.
Senior & Medical Care
| Senior or mobility-limited pet visit | $45 / visit |
| Post-surgical recovery monitoring | $45 / visit |
| Injections / subcutaneous fluids (as prescribed) | +$12 / visit |
Oral medication is included at no extra charge; injections/fluids cost more for the added skill and time. Senior and post-surgical visits run longer than a standard drop-in. We follow your vet's plan exactly, we do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment.

Most sitters in this area handle dogs and cats only. Cat to Cow covers the house pets, the barn animals, and the pond or tank, together, a combination few local services offer.
Rated by real clients on Rover, including reviews from South Frontenac and previous clients in Nova Scotia, a track record, not just a fresh listing.
A BSc in Bioveterinary Science, a minor in Aquaculture, and an Animal Welfare certificate, on top of four years of pet sitting experience.
Prescribed medication, senior pets, post-surgical monitoring, birds, and reptiles, the cases most sitters turn away. We administer exactly as your vet directs; we don't diagnose or treat.
I've been pet sitting professionally for four years, most recently in Nova Scotia before relocating to South Frontenac. My animal health background comes mainly from my education, a BSc in Bioveterinary Science with a minor in Aquaculture and an Animal Welfare certificate, backed by hands-on work as a farm technician across both aquaculture and agriculture, and as a farm animal research assistant. I've also spent time as a veterinary assistant. Together, that's what shapes how carefully I handle everything from a routine drop-in to a pet on prescribed medication.
I started Cat to Cow because I kept noticing the same gap: sitters who'd take a dog but not a goat, or a cat but not a bird. I wanted to be the one call a property actually needs, whether that's the animals in the house, the barn, or the pond out back.
Outside of sitting, I run East Ontario Aquaculture, an indoor land-based shrimp farm, which is where the aquaculture side of this business comes from directly. When I'm not on a visit, I'm usually working to grow my shrimp farm.
"Jacob did an incredible job and is highly qualified. It was a pleasure having him and if my pets could talk they'd say the same, but they can't so they bark with joy."

Yes. Exotic and reptile sitting is one of our specialties, covering species-specific diets and habitat checks, a service most local sitters don't offer. Fish are covered separately under Fish Tank & Pond rather than the exotic rate, since they're a different kind of care.
No. The full exotic rate applies when that's the main reason for the visit. If you're already booking a dog or cat visit, an exotic pet in the same household is a smaller per-habitat add-on instead, not the full rate. Fish, alongside another visit, are a small add-on too, not the full tank or pond service rate.
